Vintage palladium ring with diamonds and an 8ct tourmaline. It measures 1/2" wide and is a size 6 1/4. Excellent condition, circa 1940.
What the heck is palladium? It's a metal in the platinum family. During WWII platinum was considered a "strategic material" and was prohibited for civilian use. Palladium jewelry has the look and feel of platinum and was often used as a substitute.
